The festival features three of Berlin's if not Germany's best electro bands: STEREO TOTAL, COBRA KILLER and JEANS TEAM.
The venue is Whelans and this crazy night of electro will take place on Saturday, April 23rd!!
STEREO TOTAL is the German-Franco duo of Francoise Cactus and Brezel Goering. Formed in 1993 in Berlin, they have released six albums and toured worldwide, including their support slot with The Strokes.
As co-founders of the legendary Galerie Berlin Tokyo clubspace in the mid-nineties, JEANS TEAM spearheaded the early Berlin underground.
From 1995 COBRA KILLER were precursors of a style of aggressive rock n’ roll and electrobeats that became known globally as Electroclash at the beginning of this century. Peaches played her first Berlin gig as support for Cobra Killer.
Supported by the Goethe Institute, the inaugural Berlin Anticonformiste Festival will kick-off what is to be an annual showcase of German music’s sharpest edges, blowing the dust off Germany’s image as a land of dodgy power ballads and buffing up the side of her musical history that produced luminaries such as Kraftwerk, Neu! and Einstürzende Neubauten.
